Allow me to paint a picture.
Jesus is walking through a field with His disciples. As always, crowds have gathered—some travelling miles just to see the famous son of Joseph the carpenter. Some know Him from Galilee and the other regions they’ve followed Him to. Others are there only to find fault in the Rabbi’s teaching.
Most are weary from the journey. All are burdened by the heavy demands of the law and the traditions of the elders.
When Jesus sees the crowd, He is moved with compassion, for they are confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. Then He turns to His disciples and says:
“The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” — Matthew 9:36–37 (NLT)
For over 30 years, EPTF has served rural communities and low-income areas in cities across Kenya. So far, more than 5,600 people have been directly trained in enterprise development, positively impacting over 10,000 households. Of those trained, at least 2,000 are now running profitable businesses in different parts of the country.
Through this work, we are answering Jesus’ call to enter His harvest field. And indeed, the harvest is plentiful.
Our 2023–2027 Strategic Plan sets a target of reaching 1,000 people each year. As of 2024, we’ve reached 782 individuals across five counties in Kenya. We are pressing on to meet—and exceed—this goal.
Yet we know God’s mission is about more than economic empowerment. This truth was powerfully reaffirmed at the recent Into Africa Conference in Kigali, Rwanda, where 650 delegates from 30+ African countries gathered. EPTF was honoured to take part.
We are convinced: God is calling us into His harvest field. We believe we can help change the spiritual landscape of Kenya—and Africa—by addressing the deeply rooted issues of poverty, corruption, and injustice.
But we cannot do this alone.
We are deeply grateful for your partnership, and we invite you to consider giving towards this mission. Together, we can help restore dignity in homes and communities.
