Nal Packaging Holding Company is a registered food processing and manufacturing company located in Eldoret Town.
It was founded in the year 2016 from very humble beginnings. The company started its operations by doing fresh squeeze juice and later found a way to extend shelf life of the juice to 1 year. While they started processing using sufurias and gas cylinders, through a loan, they have purchased additional machines.
They have since introduced jams and yogurts and have been received well into the market.Through the help of entrepreneurship training from EPTF, they have adopted sustainable development practices and are creating job opportunities to the youth, women and physically challenged persons.
Nal’s Managing Director , Ms. Lilian Ngirichi, attributes the growth and expansion of the company to having solid management & organisation structure, systems and support from the Economic Projects Transformational Facility. So far, Nal Holding company prides itself in manufacturing a wide range of products and services for corporate, retail and and individual clients. Different products have been categorised into three; fruit juice & jam, nuts and dairy products.
To ensure that the needs of the present are met without compromising the ability to meet future needs, Nal Holding Company has a strategic current and future plan focused on sustainable development practices. Lilian says, “At Nal, we see fulfilling this in 3 perspective. One, in relation to the environment, two, in relation to the manufacturing and processing practices and lastly in relation to the growth of the Kenyan economy.
As such, the company is committed to using environmental friendly packaging materials and currently have plans to set up a biogas plant and a waste water treatment area where reliance on electricity, firewood will be cut down and treating of water before being released to main sewer can be used for irrigation purposes. In regards to the economic growth, the company sources for its produce straight from the farmers and ensures that the farmers are paid reasonably in order to cut down on middle men and still play a role towards poverty eradication.
As Nal grows, it foresees a future where lives in the Uasin Gishu community — youth, women and poor households will be improved as a result of its policies in creating equal employment opportunities and ensuring ready market of the farmers produce.
