THE UBUNTU SOCIAL CAPITAL INITIATIVE PROJECT | 2016-2019

THE GOAL OF THE UBUNTU PROJECT WAS;

To enhance the participation of both the urban and rural poor in the sustainable socio-economic development of their communities; building their capacities in enterprise development and agribusiness while facilitating financial access.

THE SET OBJECTIVES WERE;

  • To equip 481 entrepreneurs with adequate knowledge and skills to establish and manage profitable enterprises in the counties by the end of 2018
  • To equip 75 agricultural graduates through the graduate internship program [GRIP] and 150 farmers with practical skills and knowledge that would enable them to increase the productivity and incomes of client farms by 25% in 3 years.
  • To equip 150 youths with relevant artisan [trade/technical] skills that would enable them to transition into the labor market productively.
  • To facilitate 500 participants from the previous entrepreneurship training programs with the setting up of income-generating activities along established value chains.
  • To mobilize and sensitize the citizenry [right holders] at the county level to participate in planning as well as demand the accountability of the leadership in delivering their entitlement.
