“Little by little fills up the measure”
Muungano Bofu Women Group is a registered group in Bofu, Mtaa Location, Kinango Sub-County. The group attracts 43 members from 9 villages around Bofu Sub-Location. They learnt the art of saving and loaning from the Table Banking Training they received from EPTF under the MEDS Project in July, 2017. In October 2017, each member started saving Ksh. 250/- per month. Loans borrowed from the kitty attracts 10% interest. The group has successfully completed 2 cycles of saving and borrowing.
They received a grant of Ksh. 500,000/- from the County Government of Kwale. From this grant, they started commercial farming which acts as an income generating activity. Muungano Bofu Women Group is transforming its community by empowering its members to reach out the local government so that together they can address challenges within their community
