Transforming communities has always been a part of EPTF’s vision and overall goal: “Empowered kingdom minded entrepreneurs transforming communities”. It’s a big joy when you see alumni being able to pass on their knowledge and skills to other community members for development.
Charles & Michael who run Iscom Trade link enterprises and Christine Osore who are Alumni with EPTF were the facilitators during Artisan skill training workshop in the County government of Nandi. The artisan skill training saw an attendance of 67 youths from different wards in Nandi County.
Charles and Michael from Iscom Tradelink trained youth through briquette production a modern way of producing environment friendly fuel for households and industrial usage.
For them being pioneers of briquette production, they didn’t keep it to themselves but shared with others, an aspect that they learned from EPTF. “We didn’t train them to be paid, but we trained them so that they can be able to improve their living standard and also impact others” Charles and Michael’s word as they talk about their experience in training other youths.
They didn’t view them as competitors after training rather they saw the youths as partners whom they can work together to transform the community.
Christine Osore an alumni of EPTF and founder of Youth for Change Company that aims at training other youths to make a living through the skill they have, taught the youths how to make liquid soap. She took them through the process soap making, marketing and even branding.
