Stephanie Chebet, Program Coordinator and Regional Manager – Mombasa, is in Denmark attending an international course for 3 months in Diaconal college of Aarhus. The course is based on the value that ‘all human beings are created in the image of God and therefore are unique and valuable, entitled to be treated with dignity and respect. The word Deaconia is word used in Danish language to mean “Care based on the love of Christ” or “responsible service of the gospel by deeds and by words performed by Christians in response to the needs of the people”
Part of the curriculum involves learning about project management, organizational management and communication. The course brings together different people from different countries such as China, Bulgaria, Tanzania and Rwanda. It’s an opportunity to learn not only from the course but also from other cultures on how to integrate faith, development and culture. Stephanie looks forward to learning more and in turn assisting her colleagues in EPTF to work better. She is grateful for the opportunity accorded to her and EPTF as a whole.
The course is sponsored by ASSIST Denmark and Danish Mission Council Development Department.
