Enterprise Development Training (EDP)
EDPF’s entrepreneurship training program seeks to empower individuals into using local resources to solve the lingering subject of unemployment through enterprise development. In the past, we have integrated the training with business follow-ups and mentoring services as a means of securing start-ups from risks of failure and ensuring growth. From our interaction with our alumnus, the training program has significantly contributed to;
- The sprouting up of new businesses
- Expansion of existing businesses
- Creation of employment among others.
Since 2004, more than 4,500 individuals have been trained through the program. Directly and indirectly impacting lives and transforming communities.
The goal of the training program is to equip the trainees with skills and resources that would enable them to;
- Challenge assumptions, remain alive and develop relevant solutions in context.
- Faithfully steward resources and operate above board
- Set the bar for high quality execution and deliver beyond expectations.
- Operate in a transparent manner
- Team up with strategic and like-minded partners to accelerate holistic impact.
- Be transformed holistically.

Business Mentoring and Follow-up
EPTF takes the trained entrepreneurs through a 7 month mentorship journey to ensure that they gain footing in their businesses. This is achieved by
- Linking trainees to practicing business people trained by EPTF as mentors
- Mentor having monthly meetings with mentees for 7 months
- Business visits
- Work-based activities
Business Networking Forums
We are committed to creating platforms where our trained and mentored entrepreneurs come together to learn from one another and challenge one another to promote ethical business practices. The guiding verse for our networking forums is “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” (Proverbs 27:17).
By participating in these forums are, out alumni have witnessed;
- A better understanding of the Scriptures and how it relates to their personal and business lives
- Personal development

- Business networking opportunities
Graduate Internship Program (GRIP)
GRIP is a transitional training and employment program for university and college graduates as well as a farmer empowerment and commercialization program.
The program’s goal is two-fold:
- To increase the rate of employment for youth [with agricultural training backgrounds]
- To increase farm productivity for farm owners.
EPTF’ has a three-fold approach to Training and Agri-business support. The three parts of EPTF’s GRIP include:
- Farm Manager and Farmers’ Training: This results in the interns being employable and the farms being fully commercialized
- Entrepreneurship Training: This results mainly in a changed mind-set of the participants enabling them see opportunities in challenges and turning the challenges in the farms into potential income streams.
- Manager Supervision: Regular supervision ensures the Intern Managers and the farmers stay on track of their farming enterprises and to focus on achieving their targets in production. This is a unique service in the Farming Industry, as very few farm managers are followed-up to ensure targets are met in the right way.
College graduates trained in agriculture and who are likely to pursue careers in the agricultural sector are more interested in office desk jobs rather than farming. For this reason, they migrate to towns after graduation because farming in Kenya is not regarded as a prestigious job. Through the GRIP program, we seek to harness the potential of these graduates through training to bridge the skills gap and provide opportunities for employment or start-ups in agribusiness.
