WE ARE BETTER TOGETHER
BY MARY KAMORE: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER, EPTF
Scripture advises; “Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, one will lift up his companion. But woe to him who is alone when he falls, for he has no one to lift him” (Ecclesiastes 4: 9-10).
An African proverb adds; “If you want to go quickly, go alone. If you want to go far, go together”
The community out there is characterized by good but it is realistic to acknowledge that there is also pressure, hardships and disappointments. It would be unwise of us to imagine that we can transform the communities without partners and friends who walk alongside us.
This month, July 2017, I embarked on a journey for purposes of strengthening partnership ties between EPTF and friends / stakeholders from Denmark & Sweden – – they have walked with us for many years and have proved instrumental. My memorable moments with these partners and friends of EPTF reminded me of the importance of having the right partners.
Indeed, one of EPTF’s Strategic pillars is ‘Strategic Partnerships’ and we thank God for always giving us such partners and friends who do not only believe in our vision but allow us to stand on their shoulders in order to get there much faster than we would on our own.
To our Denmark and Sweden partners and friends; we may not be able to reward you for your invaluable support to our work but we have a prayer for you: Proverbs 11: 25b; ‘He who refreshes others will himself be refreshed’ and Hebrews 6:10; ‘God is not unjust; he will not forget your work and the love you have shown him as you have helped his people and continue to help them’
