THANKING GOD FOR THE EPTF BOARD OF TRUSTEES

THANKING GOD FOR THE EPTF BOARD OF TRUSTEES

When we held our last Board meeting this year in Eldoret I could not help but thank God for being so gracious to EPTF.

The Board of Trustees role centers on the fundamental responsibilities of providing the organization with sound governance, direction, fiduciary and strategic oversight. The board oversees the operations of the organization, ensuring that the public’s trust is upheld, the organizations’ mission addresses a community need, the practices are ethical, and legal requirements are met.

EPTF is blessed to have a board that is not only committed to the role mentioned above but a team of dedicated, skillful and godly men — women who treat their mandate as a calling and not just any other responsibility.

Besides taking time off for two days from their busy schedules to engage on matters concerning EPTF,  the board took considerable time to pray and commit all of EPTF’s work and plans ahead to God.

In opening the two day meeting, EPTF Board Chair Person , Mrs. Margaret Karangatha shared from Philippians 3:7-14. Putting more emphasis on verses 12-14, she highlighted the following three key points;

  1. Having big goals

Paul had already achieved much yet he says he can’t consider himself to have ‘taken hold of it’. Then who can claim to have achieved?

If Paul had small goals then he would have celebrated his achievements but because he had greater goals then he felt he still had more to accomplish.

“How big is your goal?”

  1. Remembering to forget

Like Paul it’s important to remember the past (past achievements), Paul did this from verse 1 to 7.  But once we remember let us forget so that we can move forward, “Forgetting what is behind and straining towards what is ahead”.

“Let us remember to forget”

  1. Energy

“I Press on towards the goal to win the prize…”Let us trust God for the energy to ‘press on’ Trusting Him for what we can see and for what we can’t see. For the “Earth belongs to him and everything thereof”

“We need energy”

As the meeting came to an end,  I felt that the EPTF board team is such a blessing not only to EPTF but to the entire community EPTF seeks to transform. Each of the board’s member valuable contribution and support has seen us achieve much this year.

May bless you abundantly, “So that in all things at all times, having all that you need, you will abound in every good work” – – 2 Corinthians 9:8.
