Position Title:  Enterprise Development Programme Manager

EPTF, Economic Projects Trust Fund is a Ministry of The Navigators Kenya that focuses on entrepreneurship development, which includes training, mentoring and business development services for entrepreneurs with the view of transforming lives. Our vision is to raise Empowered Entrepreneurs Transforming Communities.

EPTF is looking for a Committed born again Christian, aged between 25-35yrs, who is able to undertake the duties of managing the entrepreneurship programme activities on a day-to-day basis.

Reporting to

Chief Executive Officer

 

Location

Nairobi.

Overall Responsibility

Manage and coordinate Economic Empowerment Program and other Enterprise development projects.

 

Personal Attributes:

Born again Christian with a passion for growth and maturity in the Christian faith; keen interest in business development.

Key responsibilities

 

  • Manage entrepreneurship training programmes and operations on a day-to-day basis in the assigned region.
  • Developing training  materials for identified target groups
  • Market EPTF in the area of assignment e.g. its advisory services, capacity building courses
  • Manage other Entrepreneurship Development activities such as Mentoring, Business Development services, Business follow-up/visits, Entrepreneurship Clubs/associations formation and follow-up.
  • Identify potential individual and group owned businesses for possible financing and make referral arrangements.
  • Initiate partnerships for programme sustainability
  • Be part of the resource mobilization team

Education

A degree in Business Administration/Business Management/Economics or its equivalent. A Masters Degree will be an added advantage.  

Skills & Competencies

  • Have leadership skills and experience, as well as ability to supervise
  • Capacity to undertake financial management, budgeting, and administrative duties
  • Ability to shepherd projects and business individuals in various stages of design and implementation.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Ability to organize workload, prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
  • Strong interpersonal skills, particularly in relation to other staff, stakeholders and partners. Be a team player
  • Appropriate knowledge of and proficiency in a variety of analytical computer applications.
  • Practical business knowledge with an emphasis on resource mobilization, good oral & written communication skills. 
  • Financial management skills
  • Highly developed interpersonal skills, motivated and goal orientated
  • Must demonstrate sound training expertise and skills in a cross-cultural setting
  • Must be computer literate in Microsoft Word and Excel

Work Experience

  • At least 2-years experience in Business Development Services
  • Prior experience in designing, implementing and monitoring development projects designed to improve competitiveness in entrepreneurship development and value chain addition
  • Prior experience in solving business problems of growing businesses in the Kenyan context including mentoring
  • Proven ability to work effectively with high level personnel from government, donor community, implementing partners and other development organizations.
