As an organization, we seek to link at least 40% of our entrepreneurship trainees with mentors who will contribute to their development and that of their businesses. However, to achieve this goal, we recognized that mentors ought to be empowered in order to successfully build the skills and abilities of their mentees. EPTF in conjunction with Ramboll Management Consulting- Denmark held a two-day workshop in February 2012 where mentors learned the use of Appreciate Inquiry tool.

Our staff members have remained committed to the vision and mission of EPTF and we have continued to invest in them especially in their areas of competence. In June 2011, staff members had an opportunity to go through a Capacity Building program and were able to learn various aspects and practical steps to ensuring maximum positive impact as we continue to interact with our target groups.
»The Kenya- Sweden Business Collaboration

In August 2011, a few Kenyan entrepreneurs had an opportunity to visit Sweden under the Kenya-Swedish Business Collaboration, with the objectives of accessing new markets, learning new technologies as well as acquiring new machinery. The trip was indeed a success.

Majority of slum dwellers experience extreme poverty that leads to lack of basic amenities such as water and food and this in turn leads to increased crime and sexual engagements as a form of earning a livelihood. In partnership with I Choose Life –Africa, EPTF has begun a two year initiative dubbed SEAL to empower high school students in two slums in Nairobi with entrepreneurship & business development skills. Our aim is to provide our youth with alternative means of creating wealth with dignity which will in turn lead to alleviation of extreme poverty.
»Mombasa Resource Centre Launched on 5 August 2011

This centre is aimed to increase business start-up success and promote sustainable businesses among young entrepreneurs in Mombasa by offering information and business support services. This will in turn contribute to wealth creation by increasing employment and income generating opportunities for the young entrepreneurs.
